Orthopaedic Physiotherapy

1
Manual Therapy
Manual therapy involves hands-on techniques to diagnose, treat and manage musculoskeletal conditions and movement dysfunctions. These techniques may include joint mobilizations, soft tissue techniques, stretching, massage and manual traction. Manual therapy aims to reduce pain, improve joint mobility, increase flexibility and enhance overall function by addressing restrictions and imbalances within the musculoskeletal system. It is often combined with exercise therapy and education.

What is an FCAMPT physiotherapist?
FCAMPT stands for Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy. This designation indicates that the physiotherapist has undergone extensive post-graduate education in orthopaedic manual therapy and has demonstrated clinical expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. They are highly skilled in hands-on techniques, such as joint mobilizations, and have been credentialed to perform joint manipulations, including spinal manipulations. They are recognized for their commitment to ongoing professional development and the highest standards of patient care.
3
Exercise Prescription
As a complement to hands-on treatment, your physiotherapist will develop and implement a personalized exercise program tailored to your specific needs, abilities, and goals. These programs are designed to address musculoskeletal conditions, improve movement patterns, enhance strength, flexibility and endurance, and promote overall physical well-being. Your physiotherapist will regularly monitor and progress your exercise program to optimize and ensure ongoing improvement.
